Pay Attention

Posted by Ellen on August 19, 2007

Synchronicity is a wonderful thing — that moment when your mind is trying to find a connection and the world delivers it is magical.

Preparing for a report to our board of directors about the success of our first online offerings, I was getting worried about slogging through a lot of important but potentially boring statistics (more on the value of that later).  Then, browsing around the Net, peeking in on some of the blogs I read when I have a minute or so, I came across a reference to a YouTube video called “Pay Attention.”

I was riveted.  And I think you will be, too:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEFKfXiCbLw

These are our future association members, and the people they will be serving.  These are our future learners.

We need to be prepared to communicate with them in the style to which they’ve become accustomed.  We need to deliver their professional development options to them using every means possible, and making smart choices about what to use and when to use them.

We need to Pay Attention.
